Hi, I'm Tim.  I'm an "amateur photographer" and this is my blog.  I work in IT, enjoy outdoor sports activities, exercising, and home renovation.  I'm married to a beautiful, hilarious woman and together we have a six-month old son.

My grandpa worked for Kodak and was a camera collector.  I remember bookshelves of old Brownies, Instamatics, vintage 35 mms, and other antique cameras in his office.  Looking around the room literally meant looking at the development of the camera throughout history.  The closet in this same room was full of old slides and a slide projector.  Down the hall were album after album of documented lives that my grandma had tediously compiled.  For them, photography was something to collect and share with friends and family, whether it was old cameras or old baby photos.

For the past ~32 years, I've been taking photos here and there to document vacations, while playing with friends, or just for the heck of it.  I started out with hand me down cameras like the old disc cameras and pocket Instamatics (with the 110 film).
Since then, I've "upgraded" to Polaroids and traditional 35mm point-and-shoot cameras and have often gotten by with flip-phone cameras and iPhone cameras out of convenience.  For the past few years I've wanted a REAL upgrade and just recently I finally purchased my first DSLR camera, a Canon Rebel T3i (600D) - nothing too fancy, but a great camera to begin really learning the ins and out of how to take great photos.  After Miles was born, I felt it was now increasingly important to get something a little better than our old Coolpix.

I'm just amateur photographer; taking photographs is simply a hobby.  This blog is a way for me to record my progress, learn from my mistakes, and also share my hobby with friends and family.  To anyone else who stumbles upon this blog, however, it will likely just be "Another Boring Amateur Photography Blog."
